Dr. Prom

This is a silly little post about this silly little event we attend each year in Farmington, NM.  Brett works for a very friendly hospital, San Juan Regional, that tries very hard to foster a sense of community and appreciation of it's employees.  So each September they host a Doctor's Appreciate Banquet (aka, Doctor Prom).  And it's really quite fancy.  There's steak and lobster and everyone dresses up.  There's dancing to bad karaoke-like bands and sometimes there's inappropriate picture taking.  There's also a lot of awards given and some long boring awkward speeches.

We are really lucky because some of our good friends also work at San Juan so we make this rather stuffy and boring bag of lemons into a sort of lemon pucker vodka martini.  Basically, we make the very most of the opportunity to dress up and dance in a world of diapers and baths and chicken nugget dinners.
