Callie Mae Turns 2!

In a lot of ways these days seem to drag on but then is seems like overall the years are flying by.

My little Callie Mae turned two and we had a birthday party brunch for her to celebrate her second year with all of her friends.

She has this rad pair of ladybug rainboots that she insists on wearing everywhere so I made ladybugs the theme of her party.  I made the cupcakes and ordered ladybug chocolates as cupcake toppers off of esty.

white chocolate cupcakes with a lemon curd filling and white choc/lemon frosting; weird, huh?
party favors were little cups with three cake pop tulips in them

We had a full house!  We love our friends.  Within our group we have 17 birthday parties to attend for our Littles every year and everyone is just as excited at each party.  It's so fun!

My kids discovered the "pin the tail" game at the last party we attended and they were hooked.  Apparently, when you're under the age of 5, it's the most exciting game one can imagine.  So we had "pin the spot on the ladybug" game.

getting the kids lined up and rules explained

giving a little spin

and wild applause when the child gets the spot even remotely close to the right spot

We took our bubble prizes outside to enjoy a little spring sunshine.

i thought i could rotate this one once it was on the blog, sorry about that...

Time for a little "Happy Birthday" song and cupcake action.  Callie put out her flame by pinching it between her fingers.  Well, that's one way of doing it...

And what party would be complete without a little dance party action?

After everyone left, we cleaned up 95 hundred pieces of biodegradable Easter grass and Callie got some beauty rest.  Then it was time for presents and the annual marking on the growth chart.

we mark full birthdays as well as half birthdays; bennett grew 2 inches in the past six months!!!

Callie thought opening presents was great fun and she got some great loot!

Being two is sooooo fun!

and as an aside...

Grammie came to visit for Callie's birthday and yet didn't make it into any of the other pictures.  What's up with that?

Working out the inner artist with adoring Grammie looking on.
