Christmas!

We got geared up for Christmas by making gluten free/dairy free sugar cookies for dear 'ole Santa.

Bennett insisted on chocolate frosting, because that's what Santa wanted, so that's the route we took.  And seriously, these cookies were delicious.  They didn't taste GF at all so that made me super happy!

public disclaimer: i did not actually serve any cookies that were made from toddler fingers.  because they looked gross.

We were waiting for Grammie to get into town so we ended up celebrating Christmas a few days late.  On the 26th we were able to ride the Polar Express and see Santa before he visited our house that night.  I was beyond happy that everyone made it onto the train.  There was definitely some anxiety leading up to the big night.  Fortunately, Grammie's flight made it in without any delays and Brett's co-workers were nice enough to let him leave a titch early so that he could be sure to make it on time.

Then it was back to the house to get ready for Santa's visit.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care and Rwandan Baby Jesus was set out and very excited to celebrate his birthday.

Milk and cookies were set out and strategically placed so that dogs could not eat them.

And then we all snuggled down for a long winter's nap.

The next morning was filled with squeals of delight and a lot of paper ripping.  Santa and Grammie were very good to all of us and in case you haven't noticed, I did get that new camera ;)

We can't wait to fill all of your lives with more amazing Ziercher-ness in 2012.  Happy New Year! xx
