Gobble Gobble

Dear Santa,

I would really like a new camera for Christmas.  Mine is dying.  Slowly.  And my blog is sad.  

And if it could be an underwater camera, that would be super rad.

We headed back to Missouri for Turkey Day this year.

1. traveling 3 1/2 hours out of our way for a single flight rather than the DRO double flight shuggle. check.

2. buying each child their own ipod touch, loaded with new movies and games. check.

3. stocking two backpacks with a ridiculous amount of sugar and naughty foods. check.

4. a flight with no meltdowns and no mass hysteria.  priceless

The kids have figured out how to travel.  Or maybe we have figured out how to travel with children.  Nevertheless, the very long day of travel to Grandma and Grandpa's house was pretty good, especially considering we were traveling with a four year old and a 21 month old.

The kids were able to get a lot of really great time with Grandma and Grandpa Ziercher.  Bennett was lucky enough to have a number of long conversations with GPa on the patio and he became introduced to and subsequently addicted to Wii on this trip.

Callie Mae found a very enthusiastic reader in Grandma and that totally made her day.

 We were invited over to Brett's nephew, Jeff's, house to play with his kiddos, Jordan & Abby, and all of their fabulous toys.  The kids had a total blast, riding around on all of their motorized vehicles.  Brett's brother, Bryan, was there as well and it was great getting to hang out with him a bit.

We took advantage of the beautiful fall days and checked out a local park to burn off some energy.

One of the best things about being in Missouri over a holiday is that there are often really good friends around.  We got to spend a lot of time with our dear friends, Jason & Nicki, and Jamie & Cindy.  As an added bonus, we all have kiddos now so there were lots of fun nights spent with little people running around like crazy.  There was a rainy trip to the STL Zoo as well as a date night (thank you Aunt Becky!!! xoxox) to celebrate.

And the icing on the cake was that I finally got to meet my little nephew, Jackson.  My brother, Doug, and sister-in-law, Rachel, stopped by for a quick visit at the Ziercher's house with their sweet baby boy.  Jackson is absolutely delicious and the whole gang was super excited to welcome him into our family.

It was a good visit home and we're really looking forward to going back in the spring!  If we missed seeing any of you then, I hope we can catch up soon. xoxo
