The last ten days were spent on a whirlwind trip to mid-Missouri. That's where Brett and I grew up and where most of our family still lives.
This was only the second time we have flown with Callie. With two kids, our traveling lifestyle has slowed way way down. Luckily, Daddy had the magic touch and she took a little snooze for us on the plane. Bennett was obsessed with his new i-touch. I really think I need to write a thank you note to the person that invented this amazing little contraption. It kept him occupied for quite some time.
Our first stop was at Grandma and Grandpa Ziercher's house. We had fun playing outside in the scorching heat and humidity and helping Grandma fix dinner.
The next day we had the pleasure of hanging out at Brett's sister & brother-in-law's house for the day. Becky, Glenn & family live on Lake St. Louis so there are always lots of fun things to do on the water when we visit. When you are not used to the 100+ degree heat and the thick film of humidity that coats everything and everyone, this is an especially nice treat.
Our family loves loves loves being out on the boat so this was such a fun day for us.

Next we headed to Columbia to hang out with Grammie & Steve. This was the first time we got to see their new house and we LOVED it! There was plenty of room for everyone and lots of fun things for the kids to do outside.
While we we there, I helped throw a babyshower for my brother, Doug, and his wife, Rachel. Baby Boy Storm is expected in mid-September and we are all so excited to meet him!

For my 33rd birthday, Grammie kept the kids and BZ took me to a little town called Rocheport for a fabulous dinner out and a night away at a cute B&B. It was a perfect birthday!

After heading back to the STL area we had a great dinner with our good friends Jamie & Cindy Boock. We left the babies at home with family (thank you Becky, Glenn & Bethany!) and took the older kids out with us. Bennett and their daughter, Sarah, had a great time giggling over a Curious George video. When we left Bennett said, "I can't wait to see Sarah again. I love her."
Thursday found us at the City Museum in STL with my little brother, Doug. We had a fun time exploring and playing with all of the Museum attractions and then had a chill afternoon at Uncle Doug's house, pick'n on the banjo (video to follow, once we edit it).
And it was apparently at this point when I got tired of taking pictures. Because there are no recorded moments of Brett's niece and goddaughter, Kristin's, fabulous wedding to Scotty Bass. But we had fun. A lot of fun! There was quite a bit of laughing with Jeff & Erin. And dancing with Bethany. And vodka tonics. Quite a few vodka tonics. My 80 year old mother-in-law, Lo, put us all to shame with her sweet dance moves. Fun fun times!
Thank you to everyone that hosted us while we were visiting that hot and humid state you call Missouri. We love you all and miss you so much! I bet we see you again this fall!
